How can I force a new line in a discussion or article?

Question:

When I press enter to start a new line, it doesn't display the way I think it should.

Answer:

Background - The information on TaxAlmanac can be displayed differently for each viewer, depending on their screen size, settings, etc.
Some people press enter when they approach the end of a line instead of just continuing to type. This may be a remnant behavior from the days of old-style typewriters.
If the system did nothing, these 'forced line breaks' would cause the information to be displayed incorrectly to other users.
To "fix" situations like this, the system "ignores" single new-lines.
If you really want to start on a new line, press enter twice, leaving a blank line between the two lines of text.
