| + | Great to hear from you again, and thank you for bringing this to my attention. I've been using Firefox for years and don't have any issues with the links. It could be a corrupt CSS file, a specific extension that they've loaded into Firefox, or an issue with an older version. Hopefully LH will take the suggestions I posted to that page and let me know if either of them fix it. | ||

You left me a message to sign up again using a different name than denise@mbay.net, my email address. Great advice. How do I delete this account. Also, How can I make a better post to get some feedback on my tax question I posted on the 2nd?
thanks !
I will try to start using taxalmanac instead of legalbit, I didn't know the links times out!
Hope you are doing well

tax pro?
I'm not sure I'd call him a "pro," but I'm not sure I'd call me a "pro," either. I found him on LinkedIn, and he does list his industry as accounting, so I'd guess he's more than a "consumer." I'm guessing his first language isn't English, which is hindering his ability to ask the question he needs answered.

You Moved my Tax Question in Error
My user name is Scolovas. I posted a question called Personal Line of Credit which addressed the tax treatment of interest on a personal line of credit which is being used to fund a single shareholder S-Corp. You moved by question from Tax to Consumer Questions. Did you even read the question, or just the title? I've been a CPA for 25 years and have a Masters Degree in Tax from the University of Akron. I'm not sure what your qualification are, but I'm 100% confident that my question is a tax question. If you want to change the title to "S-Corp Interest Expense on Personal Line of Credit", feel free to do so, but please move my question where it belongs. Thanks. Scolovas 13:15, 11 September 2009 (CDT)
Trillium, I'm not sure I know how to update my profile. Secondly, it sounds like you're punishing me for not having an updated profile. Are you suggesting that most responders read the profiles so they can tailor their responses? When I ask my question, I indicate beforehand that I'm a CPA and tax professional. Exactly what else does someone need to know? If the response isn't properly tailored, I'll ask a follow-up question. Please stop interfering with my ability to pose questions to others on this forum. My next communication will be with Intuit, and I'll be forwarding your e-mail where you say that you're moving my questions because I don't have an updated profile. Who granted you that power?
user information
Hello,
I would like to leave the information you requested. But how do I do that? I went to the user page and I could not over write what was in there. Thanks in advance.
Re: About your recent Q on state taxea
Thank you, Trillium. Good info about the Search Results. I did not know that.
Trillium- Why do you keep removing my tax question? I am a long-time member and would really respectfully ask what is your problem? I pay a lot of money annually for Lacerte and one of their annual key selling points to me each year when I talk to them is the Tax Almanac. My question that I have already discussed with leading tax Pros including a tax lawyer in the Providence, RI area is much more substantive than a lot that I see on the Tax Almanac.
Regarding the removal of Article on E-Services
It is the humble opinion of this writer that E-Services is worth more than just a series of questions and answers but a fundemental tool for our whole process. If we just go from one question to another and one answer to another we will end up with a thread as long as the contributers want to make it and people want to look at/for what is there. If I am the only person that believes that it deserves a total look at it here so be it. I have no mission to start something for the sake of starting it. I was suprised that there was nothing there already. I would be interested to know if mine was the first attempt at starting an Article, or if there was none becuase everyone is trying to stop it. I cannot beileive that something so important is not being addressed all in one place. Yes the question is what drove me there, but I always try to leave a place a little better than what I found it. By the way did you read the discussion that I started there? Kendaniel 14:06, 20 September 2009 (CDT)
User name change again
Trillium,
I would like to change my user ID to reflect my new EA designation. I passed part II and if I don't pass the background check then no one could. So I would like to change to BrockEA. Should I re-register to do that or can you just do some of that wizardry you do and do it for me? That will also prevent me from using the wrong user ID going forward (spaces, no spaces, etc).
Thanks,
Michael
You are the best
Thank you, first and foremost.
I will go ahead and log off for the remainder of the evening (gotta do some work for my full time job). I will log on in the AM.
Thanks so much!
Michael

How do you keep all the mechanics of this forum straight? You must have many more pigeon holes in your head than most of the rest of us do. Or maybe your pigeon holes aren't all filled up with decades of now-pretty-useless pigeon poop. Harry Boscoe 23:47, 25 September 2009 (CDT)
Change user name
Trillium,
Thanks for the tip on how to get notified of new posts in any discussion.
Can you please change my user name to VanjaCPA? It's now Vanja83. Thanks! Vanja83 13:37, 26 September 2009 (CDT)

One more favor
Hey Trillium,
Someone pointed out that when I do messages to other members, that my new handle isn't showing up at the bottom to identify myself.
I just sign it as Michael and doesn't show the BrockEA as a clickable link.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Michael

Yeah, Buddy!! Life is just a Big Work-Around. Have one on me, as long as it's a PBR.
What does the "click me" button in the editing tools for writing these things that says "Ignore wiki formatting" do? Will it just get me into *bigger* trouble? I'm going to invoke it now on this message to see what happens. If I don't come back, call Denny Crane... ?
You're not anywhere near Cincinnati are you?

Hello
While I understand that people come here seeking free tax advice. I hope you can understand that my motive for posting here is purely to get advice in order be sure that I will not be doing anything that will be too aggressive and get my client in trouble.
Name Change
Trillium,
Thanks for the info on making a name change from my email address....not sure what I was thinking.
Can you please change my name from John@fairall-caruso.com on this board to:
Jcarusoea
Let me know if that will work or if is still bad.
Thanks again, John
Thanks
I did try clicking "Back." Sadly, I lost the post. I did re-type, though not in its entirety. ;o)
I edited my post to add the quote was copied from the IRS website and I don't think that is a copyright issue. Thanks for the heads up, I didn't think about that. KathiJud 09:09, 7 October 2009 (CDT)
That Cyrrilic or whatever
was just CrowJD having fun. Kevinh5
Yes he is everyone
from Gadzooks to Fr McEnhenry to PollyAdler and I think even Aunt Emmey. What a character! Let's just call him 'Sybil'. Kevinh5
I went back and searched the IRS website plus read the webpage you gave me the link to. I think you are right, what I had was word for word from that. I must have found that in the past and added to my personal "digital library" that I keep in a series of Word files named by subject matter. I didn't reference the source in my collection which obviously was an oversight on my part. My notes are for self education and not publication and I will have to be more careful when copying from them to make posts. On the same pages I have copied info on the same subject from an IRS Pub and what appears to be stuff from an IRS Audit Technique Guide.
I apologize for my error and have already edited the post to paraphrase and fix the broken link from using the wrong formatting button.
Hope every "newbie" is allowed to learn as they go! KathiJud 07:39, 8 October 2009 (CDT)

Will do...
Thanks for the input - I wouldn't hesitate to delete an obvious spam. I do now know enough about what you and Kevin do behind the scenes here to realize that once posted, the info is here for eternity. The one I alerted you to, as you stated, is relatively benign. Guess we'll see what happens with him/her.
I also missed the CROWJD in the middle of that cyrrilic reply the other day.....
Thanks ...

Well, I never would have figured out how to change it. So thanks for doing it. KatieJ 00:28, 14 October 2009 (CDT)
Did I...
...bump "urban legends" just by linking to it for Kathi? Or are you just trying to get ahead of the curve, in case she does post to it? And would it be bad for it to be bumped up - other than it has nothing to do with tax questions and should have been in "chat" long ago. (I'm not sure "chat" existed back then). Just curious - too curious for my own good.... I still have a corp & individual return to do.Belle 19:03, 14 October 2009 (CDT)
Anticipation..
I guessed that's what you were up to.
And, for the second opinion, since I seldom go the the discussions forum anymore - so I can't help you <w>.
I've been using the recent changes almost exclusively for the last two weeks. I can see where the discussion forum might be better if I'm not here on TA daily, but I like the recent changes venue. It is quite informative about all the behind the scenes activity.
Anyway, I went to Tax Forum to check out the email moniker. It doesn't bother me, but I'm using dual 17" monitors. (Get ready, the eyes go right after the memory starts to go). I do use a smaller monitor at home; I'll let you know if it's really bothersome after I get my late night TA fix.
I think I gleaned most of the Toller/Hercules info a while ago when you first restored it; I'll revisit after tomorrow's deadline. Thanks for the heads up tho, and for remembering my interest. See, your memory isn't that bad after all.
Name.xxx
I checked that user name issue we were discussing earlier; it isn't causing any real issues on my "small" monitor at home. G'niteBelle 00:39, 15 October 2009 (CDT)

Links in Fireox
Great to hear from you again, and thank you for bringing this to my attention. I've been using Firefox for years and don't have any issues with the links. It could be a corrupt CSS file, a specific extension that they've loaded into Firefox, or an issue with an older version.
