I'm an old timer when it comes to income taxes. I started working for a medium size CPA firm in 1979 doing returns by hand. We also used Computax, which required using input sheets that were sent out by UPS and returned a few days later. Editing meant checking a box you missed, and sending it out again for processing. Started my own office in 1984, preparing returns on a PC, which was rather radical at the time. I used to do a fair number of audits but preferred tax planning. Still working at it and for 2007, hope to file all returns electronically from my laptop.
