I retired from IRS in 2005 after 18 years as a Revenue Agent in the Employee Plans Branch. Agents in the EP branch typically either perform audits of employer sponsored qualified retirement plans or analyze applications for determination letters for employer sponsored plans. I did those jobs for 7 years but found my calling in the Employee Plans Customer Service function. For eleven years I answered questions and helped resolve problems that occur in the Employee Plans specialty. Simultaneously with retiring I moved back to Denver, Colorado after a 19 year absence. Financial planners don't recommend cutting income in half while doubling the mortgage payment. Sammy Davis, Jr. said , "I gotta be me." It's good to be back. I am now doing on a self employed basis the same work I enjoyed so much at IRS. I have an EA license. For those clients who are residents of Ohio and whose situatiuon requires a CPA license, I have same. See my website www.RetirementPlanAnswerMan.com
