My name is Kelvin Gable, from a rural area in north-eastern Ohio. I have been preparing taxes since 1986. I bought my current business in 1991, when I quit all my other jobs and went into taxes full-time. I work out of my home, and am a sole practitioner. Even though I am not an EA or CPA, I feel it is important to maintain my skills by taking several continuing education courses every year.
I offer payroll and bookkeeping services to small businesses, and when they out-grow my expertise, I refer them on to a local CPA. I have a part-time clerical helper, but do all the tax preparation myself. I prepare about 350 1040's, fifteen 1065's, and two corporations a year. I am a satisfied ProSeries user, having used it for the entire time I've been doing taxes, starting back when it was owned by a company by the name of ChipSoft. It was called TurboTax back then.
