I have married clients and the calculations say it is better to prepare return married filing separately. Is there a rule about who gets to claim the dependents? If they agree to let the spouse claim the kids, does it matter if she is not the one with most AGI, but she has enough income to say she provided over 1/2 support of kids?

Tired (aren't we all <G>), please complete your profile, and you may get some good responses. Just click on your name in your post above; that will take you to your user page, where you can click on the "edit this page" tab and replace the boilerplate with your own information.
