After reading and hearing several people talk about the IRS forums, I've finally decided to partake. Signed up for the Las Vegas session.

Because Las Vegas is in such a slump right now due to the economy, I couldn't see paying $146 a night at the Mandalay Hotel (the special group rate). Used my COMPS and online offers to get 2 nights FREE at Ballys, 2 nights for $35 each at the Excalibur, and then after the session I'll move downtown to the Main Street Station for 2 nights FREE. Only issue is I've got to check out twice and have the bellman hold my sack....er...suitcase, while I'm in the classes.

Flying out of Asheville would have been over $450 round trip, but since I've still got a 2nd house in Marietta GA I'll go there for the 4th of July weekend and fly out of Atlanta for a savings of an additional $150. July 4th is always fun in Atlanta. Last year I saw the fireworks from Centennial Olympic Park.

So I'll report back whether the CPE is worth $206 or not. (I used the special NAEA code to save $10 on the registration for that, too.)

I'll also report back what I did with all of that saved money. HA HA HA. You know where it will go...Ballys, Excalibur, Main Stret Station craps tables.

Will you be posting videos of the room delivery service?

Oh I do plan on taking in some shows. I always go to the Tix 4 Tonight booth and see what is half price or on sale. Last year while at the California Society of Enrolled Agents Super Seminar, I took in a different magic show every night. Totally awsome. I had wanted to see Bette Midler at Caesars, but she won't be there that week - only Cher. While I like Cher (who doesn't who has lived in any of the past four decades), I don't feel like paying $125 to see her.

I'll be interested to hear abou te IRS seminars -- I always go to that CSEA Super Seminar in Vegas but every few years I get bored with Las Vegas and think about CPE in other places.
