I am amending a 2006 1120S. This corporation changed their corp name in 2007. Of course when I pull up the 2006 tax return to prepare the amendment, the old name is on the return. In order to create the least amount of confusion, do I change the name to the new name, do I leave it there and write the new name next to it, or do I just send it in with the old name?

YES, you want to create the least amount of confusion. Doing one of those will help accomplish that.

(I think I'd use the current name, followed by 'F/K/A Old Name')
