A CPA, an EA, and a Tax Attorney all died on the same day, and arrived at the pearly gates of Heaven at the same time. Saint Peter met them at the gate and said "Come on in. I'll be showing you to your new homes here in Heaven - where you will live for all eternity."


The first place they stopped was a small but cute ivy covered cottage with a country garden and peaceful stream running through the yard. "This is for the CPA." said St. Peter. The CPA was quite pleased, and walked with the rest of the group to the next stop.


The next home was a grand home with six bedrooms, marble kitchen countertops, a jacuzzi tub and radiant heated floors in each of the five bathrooms. From the back deck, you could watch the sun set over the mountains. "This will be the home of the EA." St. Peter remarked. The EA was beaming, and continued on the journey with the group to the last stop.


The third home was a palatial estate - one would almost say castle. Servants quarters for the help, a 6,000 bottle wine cellar, and an eight car garage. It was like four HGTV Dream Homes in one. All overlooking acres and acres of rich green pasture punctuated by thoroughbred horses frolicking in the warm sunshine and drinking water from the pool beneath a 100 foot waterfall. "This is for the Tax Attorney" St. Peter said. The Tax Attorney was overcome with excitement and joy.


"Uh, St. Peter", the CPA and EA said, "we don't mean to complain, but what gives?"


"Well, that's really simple." replied St. Peter. "We get a lot of CPAs here in heaven. In fact, at least one new CPA arriving each day.

And because there are a lot fewer EAs out there, when they make their way to heaven it is a special occaision. 


  But you'll have to understand, this is the FIRST TIME we've ever had an attorney."

A tax attorney dies, and somehow he finds his way to heaven. As the attorney passes through the pearly gates, a crowd is waiting, cheering. The attorney is amazed at the reception, and sees St. Peter in front of the crowd. "A special day!" St. Peter proclaims, "It's not every day that we get the opportunity to welcome someone here who has lived for a hundred and forty-five years!" "Uh, a hundred and forty-five?", the attorney muses aloud. "But, I was only fifty nine years old when I passed away."

St. Peter looks concerned. "What's the meaning of this!" he exclaims. "Summon the accountant at once!" Very soon a nebbish looking angel appears, frantically flipping the pages of a very large ledger book. "I don't understand where I could have made a mistake," the accountant says, "I just added up his billable hours ..."
