Donation of Land to City of Henderson

If you are referring to the 409 acre MacDonald Ranch donation to the City of Henderson, the details on this deal were highly publicized in the Nevada Press. In that deal, the owners of the property realized significant capital gains from the sale of property to a Holding Company and significant charitable contribution deductions for the donation of other parcels to the City of Henderson. I believe that both, the donated property and the property sold, involved parcels of land from Section 32.

More on Henderson Donation

No, it would not be correct to zero out the gain on the sales. The sale of certain parcels was made to a holding company. The donation of other parcels was made to the City of Henderson.

The sale to the holding company involved different parcels of land than the donations to the City. The basis for the donated property would be completelty different than the basis for the property sold.

The MacDonald Joint Venture should have provided you with basis information regarding the sales. In addition, they should have provided you with an 8283 and formal appraisal for the donation.

Although I do not personally have any clients who were part of this deal, I did read an extensive article about this deal in one of the Las Vegas newspapers, and reviewed online property records to confirm my understanding of the deal.

Running Tax Prep From Home


I came across one of you discussion where you mentioned running a tax prep business from home and was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to do this and maintain a professional appearance.

This will be my first year preparing taxes as an business, and I have been looking at storefront space (real expensive plus 3-5yr lease terms) & office suites (short term, cheaper but not very convienent) so my question is how do run your business from home, do clients come to your home or do you just pick their returns and drop off or mail back to them.

I would like to keep my start-up cost as low as possible but still be able to serve many customers, when you advertise do you put your home address or just a phone number and then have them fax,mail or pick up their taxes.

Any information or advice would be greatly apprecited.

1. Look at the comment they left for you here, and note the heading that they used. Shannon's message was titled " Running Tax Prep From Home".

2. Click on the history tab for this page and look down the list to find a change with the comment that they left. As you can see, "Shannon" was actually User:Txtaxguy.

3. You can click on the link to their user page from the history tab, then leave them a message back.

It's actually simpler than it sounds. I hope this helps!

I read your profile, very well written.

Can i ask you how you found tax clients to purchase and did the transition go successful? I have looke at a few websites who handle these types of transactions, seemed tough to find a good fit for a sole practitioner to buy.

Mileage expenses for police officers

Hi Laura,

Hope you get this message...

I'm looking at the W-2 for my 1st HPD client, and I'm not sure how to interpret the automobile mileage information.

--The "Total Mileage" reads "21,635 MI." --The "Official Mileage" reads "21,341 MI." --Car Allowance = $5,856 (Taxable); Non-taxable = $0

The client says most of her mileage is commuting to and from her home in Waipahu to the Kahuku station. But she apparently is on duty during the commute in the sense that she would help out stranded motorists, etc...

I researched whether she can take the standard mileage deduction for auto expenses, but I can't find anything on point. How are you handling these automobile expenses? Thanks!

I was wondering if you are interested in a study being done by a couple of my fellow students. We put together a test, and are hypothesis is that fresh out of college accounting degree students will not do as well as veteran accountants. I know it seems obvious that it would be so, but we have figured out what the percentage difference would be for each year of experience the veteran accountant/CPA/tax man or women over someone brand new to the business world. Are you interested in answering what should be, 20 easy tax questions? The man with the highest score receives a gift card to best buy.

comparison between EAs and CPAs

we need to keep the discussion polite, Rick has brought it to my attention in the past that I was a little strong on the same points you are now making strongly. Where we need to educate people is at the level of John Q. Public Consumer.

I do believe that most of the CPAs here on TA know (now) what an Enrolled Agent is. And I understand the tax experts who are CPAs cringing when EAs try to claim to 'all' be tax experts. There are many EAs who passed the test, but that doesn't mean I'd refer clients to them if they have no real-life experience. Similarly, there are many CPAs who may excel at accounting, but not at tax. For the most part, I think the CPAs know that. The point you are trying to make needs to be directed to the public. For that reason, I do belong to the NAEA, as that is the only organization that tries to promote us. Kevinh5

And I see your point about how my initial question to you could be seen as asking you to justify your posts, and that was also not what I had intended. I wanted you to have a chance to say, yes, I did mean to start a new discussion, or no, I didn't. And I guess I was thinking about all the prior times people have posted a "partial" opening post (e.g., blank, or appearing to have been intended as a reply elsewhere), and how those posts seem to attract sarcastic comments - by moving it off of the primary tax forum listing temporarily, I was hoping to avoid that for you. But you're right, that is overstepping what I'm supposed to be doing here to help out. Thanks for the reminder - it is well taken.

Hi, Taxea -

We don't want to give any more "press" (or web-presence, in this case) to the spammers that get in. They're looking for attention, among other things, and the less they get the better, so it's probably not appropriate to post their names somewhere. We usually try to block the spammer and delete the spam links, and/or spam posts, before too many people see them, and then ignore the spammers - it's the best way to make them go away.

Yesterday's episode was a bit different in that it was partly an attempt to take down the site by posting the same thing over and over. The spammer, proofofemployment, put links about fake paychecks - and lots of other junk - on more than 50 existing discussions, and his name was the "last poster" for many of them. I wanted to get his name off of the front page of the tax forum, and other forums, which is why I posted those notes about discussions having been bumped by the spammer. Had it not been for the desire to replace his name with mine as "last poster" I probably wouldn't have said anything about the spam.

If you want to see one of his posts, though, you can still do so. Here's a link to one of the discussions he posted to. Click the "history" tab at the top of that page. That will show who posted, and when, and usually shows the first few words of each post. If you click the link for "18:19, 30 January 2009" it will show you what the discussion looked like at that point, before Tim Doyle reverted the spam. The spam post will be all the way at the bottom of the page.

You can do that in any discussion, if you're curious about whether revisions have been made. Click on the "history" tab, and use the compare buttons to see the diffferences between two times, or click on the time stamp for an old version to see what it looked like before. It can be very illuminating! (For those of us who are curious about what goes on behind the scenes, it can be a lot of fun, too.)

As an added thought to the above,

Please feel free to delete obvious SPAM posts as soon as you see them (just don't delete the entire thread of good discussion), being sure to notify either Trillium, myself, or Tim Doyle so that we can block the spammer from coming back again later. This method has been very effective in reducing SPAM and keeping the content quality up to the high standards that make TaxAlmanac such a great place to hang out.

If you need instruction on how to delete only one post (SPAM), either Trillium or I would be glad to teach you. Kevinh5

To delete SPAM

From the appropriate discussion thread, up at the top you will see a few tabs. Click the one marked 'edit this page'. That allows you to edit the things on that page.

You would then highlight the offending post (hold Ctrl key down while you mouse through the post, highlighting it - mine appears in a bluish tint), then hit the DELETE key. This deletes the highlighted text.

Then you have to hit SAVE PAGE at the bottom of the thread again. If you don't save the page, then your changes haven't been saved.

If you delete too much, you can go back to a prior version, copy and paste the deleted stuff back.

Often I go back to my own posts to make minor edits this way to correct spelling or to add working links. If you click on 'Recent changes' on the left, you can also see that CrowJD does this. From the HISTORY tab for each discussion, you can click on the prior version to see what has changed.

As far as the SSN lookup, I don't know what you mean 'collectively' do something. Maybe you are looking for a link to that page again? I have never used it. Maybe there is a link in one of the prior discussions from last year.

Absolutely!!!! People need to just learn how to use the search or at least scan two days worth of threads and they will likely find their answers! I haven't figured out a nice way of telling them. Kevinh5

Thanks. I did receive your email. I have not contacted anyone yet. Have been busy taking care of business. In fact, this is the first time I've logged back on to this site in about a week. I appreciate your help.

I was wondering if I could talk to you about your EA "career". I just passed all 4 parts of the SEE. I have yet to submit the application. This is actually the second time I passed all parts. The first time was around 1993 when it was administered at the Federal Building on three consecutive days. Passed it the first time then too. However, I changed direction, career-wise. My brother-in-law had a very successful business in Maryland and had moved to Hawaii and started a business at that time. He got me on board as a partner. We had a great run and had a great time operating it.

I've always been an accountant and have been preparing taxes since 1991 as a small side business. Now I'm at a point where I want to get out of the corporate world and run my own business again, this time in the tax/accounting field. That was a good change made a few weeks back. Kevin & Trillium pushed Tim for it if I recall correctly. But a bunch of us have been pounding on Tim since last year for a resolution to the DIY issue.

I think we seem to have gotten rid of the DIY'ers as Death&Taxes points out. I do believe you are right and I do believe you should be required at least a minimum of information on your profile page. Your first name, CPA, EA, CTP or whatever, years of experience is just fine as far as I am concerned. That should be enough.

As I said, I know where it comes from and I don't pay attention. It's just loneliness, I suppose. They are a good poster and as I said everything I needed to know was summed up in that post.

It's like with me. I don't take myself seriously, I really never did. But last year, when I was diagnosed with MS, I was blindsided. I have to admit I changed. I am not bitter mind you, but I struggled the last year. For a while, things to me weren't as funny as they used to be. But with time, I've tried to get back my sense of humor and I have mostly. It's hard when you constantly are fighting fatigue, your head hurts, your eyes can't see as well as they used to, but I look at it this way: they are people in far worse shape than me. I am grateful that I still have my family around, even though my mom died in January of this year.

So, that's my sob story. Sorry, but I just don't let people like that worry me anymore. I've got other things to worry about. I know you do as well

Thanks for e-mailing that guy. Although I have to admit, "no response" may actually be an appropriate response in this case. (Hear me out; I know that might sound crazy!) He/she has probably already signed up with a new user name - that's the fastest way to change your user name on this site - and has possibly even added some profile information for that new user name. We'll never know that it's the same person who originally signed up with a long e-mail address as a user name, and there's no particular reason for us to know.

As it happens, Riley just answered the question they asked, which is probably a bonus as far as they're concerned. They were probably willing to abandon that question and get the answer elsewhere in order to make a clean start here. (That's one way I might have looked at it, if I'd been the one to make the mistake they made.)

But in any case, it's a good thing if they're aware that there were reactions and responses to their question, especially now that Riley has posted, and your e-mail to them will help make sure that happens, so thanks for taking the time.

teaching people to free file

For this year, my primary goal is to teach them how to do their own taxes. I just "resigned" from H&R Block. I could no longer in good conscious charge people $200 with $20K in income.

I used to live in Hawaii Kai and am still licensed to practice law there. My wife wants to move back and we may if I can ever get health insurance there. (I am currently uninsurable for any new policy).

If I move back, I want to start a small part time personal tax prep business: W-2s, Schedules A,B,C,D,E, and K-1s only. No corporations, partnerships, etc.

The actual overtime pay goes on Ln 21 subject to SE (link it to Ln 7). The atty needs to give the client a detailed billing that specifies the amount of the bill that was for retention of income. That amount goes on Sch A.

Home buyer credit


I am still confused about what can be done for the 22 yr old who will still be in college in 2010 and just bought a home which his parents co-signed for but they will not be making his payments.

Would he lose his ability to be a dependent for his parents in 2010 if he moves into his own home even though he attends college full-time?

Also, would it be possible for the parents to claim the credit if their son cannot since they are co-signers?

Jim yes he they would lose him as a dependent because in order to get the home buyer credit he has to live in the home that was purchased. He is also paying the expenses of the home which means he will probably be paying more than half of his own support. The parents can only claim the long-time credit and only if they move into the house. L

Tips Not Included On Sch SE

Taxea: Could you give me any IRC or IRS citation regarding NOT including Tips as subject to SE tax. In your response to my question, you said add the tips as Other Income and then adjust SE. Please tell me where you found that ruling. I have never heard of it before.

Hi, Well. It is not April's pool. My client handels with more than 50 homestay hosts. The problem is that most homestay host dose not want to get 1099-misc. I know that we have to issue 1099-misc but my client might close his business if he issues all 1099-misc. Any advise ?

For the future, your best bet is to post just the website address (link to the content) and a brief description - in this case, i went with the title/author's name as they were already in your post, in lieu of a description, since the article title was so descriptive! So that most recent post is fine as-is; no need to change it further. The same rules apply to excerpts from other tax research sources, like TTB, but I don't think there've been any real issues on that in the past.

By the way, your discussion's been veering into a discussion about CPE related to the new preparer designation (and education overall), so eventually it'll end up over in the practice management forum, rather than the tax forum. I figured I'd just let it ride where it was for a while, though.

No need to double-post

The tax forum is supposed to only have discussions about tax issues (e.g., not CPE, software, other practice management stuff, business growth stuff, etc., which should all be on the practice management/business growth forum - you can see the complete list on the Discussion Forum Index). There's a pretty vocal group that has made that request clear. So that's why things get moved eventually, so that the people who only want to see tax stuff get what they want. And there are some people, mainly the ones that are only interested in hints for growing their business or software comparisons, that only visit the practice management/business growth forum.

But most of the people who would read and actually want to know the facts about this issue are reading discussions on both forums (or are using the "all topics" index), and would only be annoyed to find the same discussion twice.

It's probably a fine line right now. Unlike topics such as CPE and software, that are clearly practice management issues, the development of the standards for preparer registration kind of spans topics (it's both a practice management issue and a current developing tax issue, in a way). So whatever is most logical to you - it's a little easier to start a discussion on the PM/BG forum, as there's no screen for non-pros, and you get to skip the "four steps" page. But you're more accustomed to the tax forum, and probably post there without even thinking about it one way or the other.

contribution count boxes

Hi, Laura –

I saw your note to Tim today about the contribution post-count “award” categories. That was something that Tim was doing back in 2006 and early 2007 as part of increasing traffic and interest for the site, but once the site was up and running, that was replaced with forum quality awards (the barnstar award), rather than continuing the post-count/quantity recognition. So at this point, having any one of those silver/gold award boxes is kind of a coup, since it shows you’ve been participating a lot longer than quite a few other people!

The contribution quality awards are user-awarded; if you feel someone is deserving of the barnstar award, you can add it to their user page. You can read more about that on FAQ #19, and there are also brief descriptions on the Recognition Team and Top Contributors pages.

Are you saying that you can get back refunds for tax years past the 3-year filing deadline by carrying back an NOL to that year? For example, I am wondering if an NOL carried back to 2006 will be of any use now.

Responding to messages

If you click on the "history" tab on your talk page, it lists each person who's posted a note, with the timestamp and (if they provided one) the message title. You can then click on the "talk" link next to any person's name, which takes you directly to the page where you click the link to add a new note.

You'd think it could be easy enough to set up a link that would take someone directly to the proper page and also right into the message box, but it turns out it's not. So for now the paragraph above provides the easiest way to respond, because that info is recorded automatically.

Hi Laura, I was in the Navy stationed at NAD West Loch; it was in Ewa Beach. Naval Station Barber's Point was about a mile down the road. We had sugar cane plants just outside the base. Sugar cane spiders which were huge but harmless showed up quite a bit on in our barracks. I was one of about 20 reservists stationed there with EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) as support for their efforts on board aircraft carriers and in Viet Nam. We were a tenant command, so we had pretty free reigns on the base. It was gourgeous and peaceful on the Island; very antithetical to our reason for being there. Vacation home owned by 3 families in an LLC

Hello, I see a topic of conversation that you participated in in 2006 and wonder if you'd be willing to let me know if you've had further experience with this issue.

I have 3 families that purchased a lot to build a vacation home. The home is now being built. The lot (and home) are in an LLC. It is not going to be used as a rental, just a personal "2nd home". The IRS told me they need to see a tax return for an LLC that has a tax id number, but they are not doing any business. No income, only the usual expenses with owning a 2nd home. I believe you suggested that a 1065 would not need to be filed in this situation. Have you still found that to be true? Would each owner then simply take the property taxes and mortgage interest on their own schedule A's?

I am hoping to get some answers in the next day or so, but haven't actually talked to anyone who knows! I finally found this conversation thread this evening and signed up on Tax Almanac. (Google is an amazing invention!)

Client has loss on HI rental

Hello Laura,

I'm struggling with this. I posted a question on the board but then thought of you... Hope you might have a minute for it.

My client, a HI non-resident, has a $26k loss on a HI rental condo. He has no other HI activity or income.

On his federal return, he cannot take the loss due to high income, so it is suspended via the 8582. When he ultimately sells the place his suspended losses will increase his basis on his federal return.

What is the equivalent way to handle this for HI. I guess the loss cannot be suspended as there is no other income against which it wouldn't normally be allowed.

Is it treated as an NOL which must be carried forward until the unit is sold? And what if he keeps the unit longer than 20 years?

Name Similarities

There have been other name similarities in the past, and while there are one or two that created some concern (I think it was something like Kevinh6 vs our own well-known Kevinh5), it has always turned out to be a non-event. Either the lookalike rarely posts - which is the case with TaxEA - or they quickly develop their own recognized personality. Actually, as I type this, I recall that one that initially concerned me was Crowcpa. Many people have strong feelings about CrowJD, but other than one or two people (no more than that) confusing Crowcpa for CrowJD at the start, just the posting style was enough to differentiate the two. And there hasn't been any confusion for quite some time, even as Crowcpa started posting more regularly.

Another point: I don't believe that you need to worry about Ckenefick treating TaxEA differently because of prior interactions with you. He treats everybody just about the same, as far as I can see, in that if he sees something that (in his opinion) needs to be challenged, then he challenges it. He also tends to be very direct.

To that point: I think that if you want to continue to post suggestions that may or may not be true, just to get a reaction from the OP, or to make the OP think, or whatever (giving the OP a puzzle to solve), you are going to have to expect that you might get reactions from others, too. With written communication it's not easy to tell that you might be posting just to get the OP to do more research to prove you wrong. I don't think you should take it personally that somebody else "solves the puzzle." But I can see how it would be hard not to do so... so that's just my 2 cents, for whatever that's worth!

To edit your watchlist, talk page, etc.

There are two ways to edit your watchlist. For either one, you start out by clicking "my watchlist" and then clicking "view and edit watchlist."

Method 1:
Click the box next to each item you want to remove from the watchlist, and then way down at the bottom of the page, click "remove titles" in the oval box.
Method 2:
This is slightly easier if you want to remove a lot of items, but dangerous if you only want to do a few. At the top of the page you're on (the view and edit checklist page), there's a line that says "Titles on your watchlist are shown below. To remove a title, check the box next to it, and click "Remove titles". You can also edit the raw list." Click on that link to edit the raw list.
Now you can just highlight a bunch of item names and use your delete key (or backspace, as applicable) to remove them. Once you have the remaining items you want, click the "edit watchlist" oval button at the bottom of the page.

Talk Page
You also asked about clearing out your talk page. I find it easiest to go to the talk page, click "edit this page" and then just highlight the ones I want to remove, then hit my delete/backspace key. Then, at the bottom of the page, I click "save page." Note - the history of your talk page will always still be available. You could click on the "history" tab, and then on the timestamp next to any message, and see the message again.

Lastly, you asked about clearing out your contributions. I take that to mean your contribution history - what you'd see if you clicked the "my contribution" link in the upper right corner of your screen, or what someone else would see by clicking "edits" next to your name in any discussion post. That cannot be cleared out. That's a complete record of your participation on the site.

With regard to Chris, I can only guess, but I imagine that he doesn't have anything more to say than what he typed - he was challenging the info in the post, and not the person who wrote the post. You said that you felt that he was calling you out in public, but it doesn't come off that way to me.

Please be careful about over-generalizing, in your comments about licensed vs unlicensed tax preparers. We've got some top-notch unlicensed preparers right on this board, and while I think everybody knows the type of people you're really talking about when you say things like:

"I don't see anyone, not required to test or CPE, doing so voluntarially. Do any of you know any non-regulated/licensed preparers who do very much to learn anything more than they have to...or even do any research when dealing with anything foreign to them on a return."

...unfortunately you're tarnishing the good ones that we know (and rely on for help ourselves, because they've done more continuing ed or research than we have in a given area!) with the same brush.

Copyrighted info

Hey, Laura - hope things are good for you...

I wanted to let you know that since the info you just posted on the "imputed interest" discussion is on a copyrighted website, it can't actually be reposted here. TaxAlmanac's policies are kind of tight, since Intuit obviously doesn't want to get in trouble from the people who might get copied from, and yet at the same time, they don't want to spend a lot of time reviewing posts for copyright violations.

So it's fine to link to the article, and mention why you think it might be helpful (even paraphase, if applicable - although it doesn't seem like that would be applicable in this case). But putting more than a line or two of it [into your post] would go against TA's policies. Same goes for RIA and other research material.

The two pages that best show this are the "Copyrights" section of this one and the "And be careful about" section of this one. I can come back later tonight and edit out [the article copy/paste], but if you want to do it now, that's also fine. Adding later: I went ahead and edited out the article part - please go in and edit further as much as you like, including removing the entire note about copyrights if you like.

You had mentioned the concept of it being fine to paste content from somewhere else as long as you indicate the source - there are limited times when that's actually true, even for TaxAlmanac with it's stricter policies, e.g., anything from or the treasury regs, etc. Also, any time that an article is specifically marked as being fine to reprint and republish with attribution (although it's really quite rare to see this).

But it's pretty much always fine to link right to an article - so if you wish to put your original link back into that post on imputed interest, that's no problem at all.

Anyway, thanks for the subsequent edit. Removing my copyright note was fine, since the issue itself went away.

Edit conflict

When you get the "edit conflict" message, click the back button on your browser. That takes you back to the post you were writing.

Then, in a new window (or a new tab), re-open the discussion, and re-edit the post in the new window (copy/paste as applicable, since you have the original version open elsewhere. Then click "save page" on the new window, and close the original window once the post is saved.

If you've already closed the original browser window though, or accidentally accepted the "edit conflict" version (by clicking "save page" after you see that message), then it's too late to try that. That's when having a copy out in word, or whatever, does come in handy.

E-mail addresses in discussion posts - spam-attracters!

Hi, Laura -

I noticed that you've been including your e-mail address in your discussion posts, off and on, lately. I thought you should know that it has always appeared that the e-mail addresses inside discussons are extremely likely to get spammed. There's some indication that the e-mail addresses on user pages and talk pages are a tad less likely to attract the same kind of spam.

We also have been trying to discourage people from including e-mail addresses in posts because there are a few people who do it as a form of advertising, and to help spread their name/contact info. Apparently TaxAlmanac gets put way up in the search results at many of the popular search engines, so it's a way of getting their contact info associated with a reputable website. I know that is *not* what you are doing, but when you include your e-mail address in a post, it makes it that much harder to convince the advertiser-types (who are trying to take advantage of TA) that they can't do it.

If there are people who you think could benefit from taking their questions offline, and discussing them with you, rather than getting the group's feedback, then it may be better for you to initiate that via their talk page(s) rather than in the discussions.

Just something to consider, not a big deal.

Worksheets for Clients

Hi Laura, thanks for the suggestions. Some clients, I can actually get through to, but I have inherited this business from hubby and his buddies are used to the almost nothing rates, free pickup and delivery, and being lazy. His buddy even complained about what I charged his daughter and son in law (his W2s were for THREE states, so I had to do 3 state returns, he went from self employed to employee, so I had to recover Special Depreciation on his pickup truck, etc). Last year, I did explain that this is a requirement, I have to follow it. This woman's husband had called us a few months before crying about her credit card bills and how he had to take a second mortgage to pay them and that some of them canceled part of the debt. I explained to hubby (to tell his friend) that the COD is taxable income. When I didn't see any 1099-Cs, and I talked to both of them about it (I did see the remortgage papers), I asked them to call their credit card companies because it's possible that the 1099-Cs were lost or late and that the absence of them doesn't make them tax free. The husband whined and complained and then did some internet research, and guess what? He found cases of 1099-Cs not being issued, or being issued late, and the taxpayer having to owe, so he had his wife call. All companies said they would issue them after the new year (COD was in late December).

Oh well, such is life. I see from your user page that you're as fed us as I am with the current administration.

A/B trust

This terminology commonly refers to a testamentary (or testamentary substitute) creation where the A Trust qualifies as QTIP and the B is for credit shelter purpose.

Fiduciary responsibility is governed by state law. I am completely clueless as to Hawaii law. I do not know anyone who can help you with specifics.

A trust is a written instrument. Document language refers to the respective clauses included that instruct procedure.

In general the purpose of a B Trust is first to make sure surviving spouse is taken care of if the assets of the A trust are not enough and second to preserve assets for the residual. If, as Trustee, surviving spouse decides to rape the sucker residual beneficiaries may have legal recourse. They may not.

How to change your discussion title

For future reference, it's FAQ #4:

To change the Topic / Subject of a discussion (i.e., change your discussion title):

  1. open the discussion
  2. select the move tab at the top of the page
  3. in the second box ("to new title"), enter the name that you'd like the page to have
  4. click the "move page" buttom

Be sure to keep the "Discussion:" prefix at the start of the new name, as that's what sorts it into the forum index.

If you receive a warning message indicating that another article already has that name, you'll need to choose another so as to not overwrite the existing page of another article.

You can paste a LINK to the article

If you saved the article as a pdf, there should be a link showing at the very bottom of each page. That link can be copied and pasted to TaxAlmanac. But the article content cannot be posted here, as it's under copyright to the publisher and possibly also the author.

PS - if your pdf printer doesn't save the URL at the bottom of the page, it shouldn't be a hard process for you to enter the article title into a search engine, perhaps combined with author name, which would allow you to recover the URL.
