Editing posts / Bumping old disc / Misc

Hi, Steve - just some general info on using TaxAlmanac for whatever it's worth:

I originally posted this on your 941 discussion, but I'll switch it out for some links that might help focus attention back on your actual question in a minute, so I'm moving these two points here:

  1. When you search the archives, the oldest discussions will be at the top of the search results. To read discussions started most recently first - which is usually the best bet - start at the bottom of the search results and read up.
  2. You can edit your own posts to correct typos. use the "edit this page" tab, and just avoid changing or deleting any of the squiggly brackets that start and end your posts, and the stuff at the beginning that ends in "text=" - for more on editing, see FAQ #3.

  • Thanks for searching. However: before you add a post to an existing discussion, check how old it is, and how many other topics are covered in it. If it meanders, i.e., has two or three other semi-related but different issues, it's best not to post a new question there; readers get confused and give up before they even get to your new question. And, if it's more than a year or two old, same thing (unless it's both short and exactly on point to your new question). This is a judgement call, and the comments here are based only on seeing what's worked and what's failed, in terms of new questions posted to old/long discussions. YMMV.
  • Your question is so different from any of the existing discussions on 941 reqmts, I'd have been inclined to post it to a new discussion. But now that you have it posted where it is; let's see what happens - maybe you'll get some new comments.

I'm going to edit my post now to add some other links, and refocus on your question rather than the admin stuff, and I'll correct your "($2,500)" to "(less than $2,500)" as you'd wanted, while I'm there.

End of the forum

You may have heard by now that the Tax Almanac ( ) web site forum is permanently closing its doors effective June 1. Perhaps you have seen the pink bombshell “Important Service Announcement” when logging in.

Long-time TA user ChrisV2 has volunteered to set up a new website where TA users may continue the discussion. The site is up and running now and has an active base of contributors.

We invite you to take a look and join your fellow TA refugees.
