Welcome to TaxAlmanac - User Info Needed ==

Hi, and welcome to TaxAlmanac, the online research resource and community for tax professionals.

Thanks for being interested in sharing your knowledge with others by adding to the ongoing discussions. The members of this website like to be able to know a bit about the people we're interacting with, so please add a little info to your user page/profile to give some info about your background/level of experience. You don't need to provide any personally identifying information, although some users do like to include their contact information there, too.

Other users can then click on your name in any discussion for a quick way to find out a little bit about you, to provide a context for the responses you're posting, or to frame their responses for any questions you may post. This is so important to the members of the website that user page info is now requested on the very first screen people see after they first sign up and create a user name. And, in fact, posts from people who haven't provided any user information are subject to being removed from discussions.

Here are some great resources for getting to know TaxAlmanac if you’re new to the site: FAQ, an Overview of TaxAlmanac, Policies, Code of Conduct, and Hints and Tips on How to Search on TaxAlmanac.

Reminder - you still need to update your user page

Otherwise, you run the risk of having your posts removed from the tax forum, as per the pink notice at the top of the forum index (and also according to the page you wouldhave seen when you created your user name (here: user page/welcome screen) and also the prior note you received about this.

Thanks for getting that done soon- it saves us a lot of work that would be involved in moving your posts.

End of the forum

You may have heard by now that the Tax Almanac ( ) web site forum is permanently closing its doors effective June 1. Perhaps you have seen the pink bombshell “Important Service Announcement” when logging in.

Long-time TA user ChrisV2 has volunteered to set up a new website where TA users may continue the discussion. The site is up and running now and has an active base of contributors.

We invite you to take a look and join your fellow TA refugees.
