This is not in my area of expertise. I deal in collection problems.

Single K Contributions

Good Afternoon,

As you're an EA I was hoping you might be able to shed some light on a situation...please see my post in the tax discussion forum re: Single K Contributions. Any information you could provide me with would be a great help.

Thank you.

Constructive posts

I vote that your posts are always constructive, and thank you for that!

client with payroll problems

hey im sending you an email on this, thanks

Minister SE - your post

Michael - is your post on Discussion:Ministers - exempt from SE tax a response to the question from 2009, or the new question that's been moved to the other discussion?

Sheldon posted questions all over the place today, which was confusing enough - now I can't tell who you're answering!! Just trying to keep things straight so Sheldon gets an answer somewhere.

Misposted names

The word from Tim Doyle is that it has something to do with how the site is caching entries (which is part of trying to speed things up). They're trying to resolve the issue, but the good news is that it just seem to be an annoying glitch, rather than a security problem.

As to the change in the username in the first of the two posts that you made that showed up with the wrong user name - it looks like Kevin edited the first one to change the user name and maybe didn't get the second post changed.

Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.

confidential - I notified OPR. But the issue is how to protect the taxpayer. and FYI I ususally never handle friends or family, but this was something I had to do. I am letting the tax attorney handle this going forward.

Substitue Return

Hello Mscash,

I saw a post that you commented on back in 2010. I have a client that has some tax issues going back to 2004. The IRS filed substitue returns and I'm sure the FTB did as well, but I'm not sure. The client wants to go back and file the prior years. I'm not that familiar with back tax issues as I would like to be in handling a situation such as this one. I don't want the client to have to pay more than he is required to pay. I would like to find someone that has more experience in filing past due returns. Do you have any recommendations of someone in the orange county area of CA?

Thanks for your input.

Please change your password immediately

There has been a post using your username which wan't made by you. Probably NOT a breach of security, there is another Issue that Intuit was supposed to have fixed, but change it just in case, close your browser, then re-log in using your new password. Thank you, Kevinh5 17:59, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

TaxAlmanac glitch

This has been going on a while, now, and the Intuit programmers can't seem to get a permanent fix. Posts are showing as made by somebody else. Generally it's somebody else who is online (on TA) and doing something at around the same time as you. From what I've been told, the glitch is caused by the way TA caches posts, which is supposed to help the site run efficiently. Apparently, it backfires sometimes.

There is also the possibility that your computer has been hijacked, and your IP address is being used to post spam (e.g., by the spammer ApolloniusStephens), but Tim Doyle at Intuit has repeatedly reassured both Kevin and me that it's more likely just a glitch within TaxAlmanac's site itself. However, it couldn't hurt to run a virus check on your computer and make sure you're the only one using it. Low priority, though.

It's the same problem as before. Someone is posting spam under your username.

End of the forum

You may have heard by now that the Tax Almanac ( ) web site forum is permanently closing its doors effective June 1. Perhaps you have seen the pink bombshell “Important Service Announcement” when logging in.

Long-time TA user ChrisV2 has volunteered to set up a new website where TA users may continue the discussion. The site is up and running now and has an active base of contributors.

We invite you to take a look and join your fellow TA refugees.
