thanks... now one other PA question

Dusty, thanks so much for your quick answer on the penstion question this morning. I see I'm not the only one at the office at 6:45 a.m.!

one other question. My retiree sold his principal residence in PA and immediately bought another her in VA. I know that there is no federal tax consequence for up to $500,000 of the gain, when filing jointly... but what's the PA consequence? Do I need to list the sale anywhere on the PA state return?

again, thanks very much Jim F "Anchorman" in Chesapeake, VA

Did you want the HRB excel spreadsheet

Hi, You hit my discussion page; didn't leave a message but it was under another request for HRB file.....let me know.

Talks and other stuff

Yes, I've been with Vest for 13 years - a very good match with your tax practice - the clients really appreciate getting all of their tax & financial advice from one trusted advisor. I can send you something in the mail if you want. I've made hundreds of thousands of dollars (literally) over the last 12-13 years through Vest. I would venture to say that it is over 3/4 of a million. Of course, nothing is easy - you have to pass a few tests, study some products, and truly want to do the best thing for your clients.

As far as talks, if you are a member of NATP there are 3 or 4 free powerpoint presentations that you can download from thier website - things like starting a new business, maybe one on real estate sales people.

What you want to do is pick a topic that you have some expertise on, ask the clients in that field how to get in front of more people like them, and then go (for free) and do a 15-30 minute talk on the subject. The SBA is always looking for people to do these things for new businesses.

Good luck. Kevinh5

Yes, if you say you were referred by me (Kevin Huston), I get a small bonus. Also, I think I have a coupon that will save you $325 off the licensing fees, but I'd need your mailing address to send it to you. Kevinh5

SUI

yes, deduct it because if they collect, it is taxable
