Welcome

Hello and welcome to TaxAlmanac! My name is Tim Doyle and I serve here in the role of TaxAlmanac Moderator. Thank you for posting your question on the Ask or Answer a Tax Question page - hopefully someone will be able to answer your question quickly.

If you haven't done so already, you might want to review our Quick Start Guide to help you get oriented.

We also encourage you to introduce yourself to us and to the other members of the TaxAlmanac community on the user introduction page. You might also want to add something to your own user page so that others will know a little about you.

If you can think of anything we can do to make TaxAlmanac a more useful resource to you, please feel free to give us your feedback.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a member of the TaxAlmanac community! If you have any questions, see the help pages or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Long-time TaxAlmanac user

Hi, Jim, I see you've been a member of TaxAlmanac since the very beginning in 2005 - welcome back!

A lot of things have changed since TA was first started - so here are some good links for refamiliarizing yourself with TaxAlmanac:
Code of Conduct, Policies, FAQ, and Hints and Tips on How to Search on TaxAlmanac.

Also, we now have individual user pages - called profiles - that can be accessed by the other users by clicking any username in a discussion. To get to yours, click your own name in a discussion, or up at the top center of your screen (or here: Profile). Questions from users who haven't provided any information on the profile are often ignored (and are subject to being moved to the DIY/consumer forum), so it is worth taking a minute to add a little info about your experience level/background as a tax professional. Select edit at the top of that page, replace the boilerplate with your info, and then click Save page.
