Hi Willy B,
Now that I have read your comments in the discussion of who should be able to participate in Tax Almanac, I see the reason for your request (about a week ago) for information about myself. However, I have the impression (incorrect?) that anyone can edit whatever I put on my personal page, so I'm still not sure I want to provide anything there. Besides, if you are trying to determine whether I am a professional or a member of the general public, doesn't my user name give you enough?
Within the past week, I have subscribed to a group on yahoo called Tax Talk which is just for CPA's and attorneys, so I am using Tax Almanac less. Tax Talk has the advantage of a more technical and informed level of discussion, but the disadvantage of not having an index and grouping of threads of discussion.

C corp loss carryforwards
Willy, I noticed your reply to a post about this topic.
thought I would see if you had any advice on this topic. I am looking to buy a C corp with large carryforward NOL . I am curious as to whether I could transfer ownership in to the corporation of some of my personal rental real estate that is very profitable so as to use the corps carryforward losses to shelter future annual income from the RE.?
any comments would be appreciated. Thanks SSBB22 21:13, 8 October 2006 (CDT)
