TaxTips,
Take a look at Frederick W. Behrens, TC Memo 1985-195.

Hi Taxtips - thanks for your reply to my question about reporting IRA's on Form 706. You mentioned that Schedule F is appropriate (it's not an annuity)....I went thru the Schedule F instructions and do not see a reference to IRA's...or is it implied by one of the other mentioned categories? Thanks.
Hi
Hi. Taxtips,
Thank you for your response. I have one more question. So, is the FEI exclusion in 2008 voluntary or they must take the exclusion? Thanks.Glory4ever 11:17, 6 February 2009 (CST)
Source of information
You had posted in February 2008 on Tax Almanac that there was no need to file a 3115 to change accounting methods. Checking the box incorrectly is not an adoption of an accoutning method. I have searched the web for the source "Trustee v U.S." for more detail and to make sure it applies to our situation, but am unable to find the court case. Can you please forward more detail to your source? I have a client that should have been a cash basis and was filed as such in every respect except for the accountant marked the box as accrual.
Thank you, Trish
