bike riding
See, it wasn't so hard to complete that now, was it? Take a look at my page. I love long bike rides, too. There's just something about getting out there and enjoying the scenery while moving under my own power.Natalie 20:15, 3 February 2007 (CST)Natalie

Thanks, but you didn't need to say anything further....
Taxcurmudgeon,
I appreciate your answer. However, it was not necessary to add "If you had told us at the beginning..."
I am known to give a lot of facts when I post my questions. But I've been saddled with a disability I wish on no one. When I posted this, I couldn't get this question out fast enough. And the blind reference was true. I was losing my eyesight. It's a temporary thing, but difficult nonetheless. Look in the chat section and you can find out about what happened to me there right after tax season this year. I discuss it all there.
Now, you indicate in your profile you have one. I don't know if this is true, but if so, you might want to have a little more empathy. This is extremely new to me. I don't want to use it as a crutch, but it's a real pain sometimes and all I wanted was some help, not a lecture on how type my questions.

Thanks for nothing - I don't appreciate your rudeness or your suggestion that I don't know what I'm talking about. I simply was trying to save billable time by getting the IRS code from someone who knew it off the top of their head - obviously that's not you.
Appreciate the assist
Saw that you've been moving some questions over to the consumer forum today; thanks for the assist!
There are one or two extra steps to that procedure -
- before you move a question, take a look at the user's contribution history (click on edit next to their post) - both the length of time they've been around and also content of their older posts. That will often give you a good idea of whether or not they're a tax pro. The lack of a profile isn't really enough reason to move a question if there's good reason to think they are a tax pro (IMO).
- after you move a question, you need to leave a note on the user's talk page telling them that it's been moved, and why, and if you think they're possibly a tax pro, indicate the importance of saying so in their profile, or if you think they're not, giving the link to the "how to find a tax pro" page and an explanation of why consumer questions aren't always answered here.
For example, one of the ones you moved was somebody who first signed up here back in 2006, and the content of their older posts suggests that they are a tax preparer. So I had put a note on their talk page earlier today, discussing the changes in TaxAlmanac since they joined, emphasizing updating of their profile. Since they haven't really had a chance to update the profile since then, I'm going to move that question back to the main forum.
On the other hand, Ryn has variously asserted he/she *is* and also *is not* a tax preparer - the latter assertion being much more likely. So I'll leave that one where you moved it, but I will add the note to Ryn's talk page.
Anyway - thanks again!
