Hi Mike - The nature of the sales transactions determines whether tax is due. Retail sales are almost always taxable, construction is partially exempt, service providers are almost always exempt, etc. Disregarded entities and everyone else are required to file and pay TPT if they engage in taxable transactions in Arizona.

From your brief description, it seems that A would be the licensee if he is the one who owns and operates in AZ but hard to tell without some specifics.

Is there a TPT license? If not, you can obtain one by filling out an AZ Joint Tax Application. www.azdor.gov is where you can find forms, etc. Let me know if this helps. BethAZ 19:47, 8 November 2007 (CST)

Mike,

Thx for your comment. Wondering if you had a resource you used in your nexus research. Sure seems to me there could/should be a common database or summary of the state rules done by a third party...

Thx
