Laticia, I ran across one of your old posts (http://www.taxalmanac.org/index.php/Discussion:Form_8824), and was wondering if you could set me straight on this. I've added my details to that post. I filled out 8824's last year for farm equipment that was traded and didn't have to fill in line 5, but this year I get an error. Am I mistaken that trade-ins are supposed to be reported this way? Sorry to bother you, but yours is the only post for non-real property.
