Long User Names are Problematic

Hi, and welcome to Tax Almanac, the free online tax research resource and community for tax professionals.

Before you start to post to the discussions, you should really consider changing your user name. First, there's no need to put your actual e-mail address out there to be picked up by spammers, but more importantly long user names without any spaces really mess up the format of the discussion boards.

For an example of this, take a look at page 25 of the Tax Questions discussion board. The long user name stretches out the "creator" and "last poster" columns to fit, and the "topic" column - which should be the widest - has to shrink to make up the difference. Click over to page 27, you'll see that having spaces in a user name allows the name to wrap, rather than stretching the columns. (If you are reading this more than a day or two after Oct 3, those page numbers may not be exactly correct, since new posts push the old ones back.)

You can just start anew with a shorter user name (or a long one with strategic spaces so it'll wrap within the column). The other users here would really appreciate it.
