Reasonable Comp

Hey KP, no, I don't have much experience with Docs, but do have some higher income folks whose salaries have to be well over the SS limits. So they don't get much benefit out of being an S corp, other than not having to be a C and worrying over a high comp to make the PSC profits go away. That's the issue. I would never pick a C. Go to either or both: www.salary.com or www.payscale.com and see what your doc should be getting paid based on prevailing salaries for his area and job description. Pay close attention to those job descriptions. And then set your salary on that range once you can justify being either at the mid, low, or high end of it...and IRS really can't have much of an argument. Jeff JR1
