Hi all. I have passed a cpa exam in 2004 but not certified yet. Working at a local firm to get expreience. I think this forum is gareat place for people like me. I am learning a lot through this forum. I am really appreciating you guys all. Hoping I can help out in the future ( when I am ready )

I saw the comment on your user page where you state that you hope you can contribute soon. I believe you meant that since you haven't yet been certified as a CPA that you don't think you can contribute to TaxAlmanac. Not true! You are more than welcome to jump in and answer questions in the discussion forum, but there are other ways that you can make a big impact here if that's not what you feel comfortable with. We very much need additional content on the site. This allows people do more easily do research and to link to that content when answering questions in the discussion forums. We're just now starting up a team of people to help out with importing Revenue Rulings, IRS Announcements, etc. from the IRS site to TaxAlmanac. If you'd like to help with this or any of the other projects listed on the Community Portal (see link in the navigation box at the left), just let me know!

1099B
I gifted shares of stock to my church. I have received a 1099B reflecting this gift. Do I have to do anything with this on my taxes?
