S corp salary
Well, I don't see how you're taking the unreasonable position. You're merely reporting what you're given. I'd document, of course, that the salary must be reasonable, and that you'll take the appropriate steps to ensure that it is for 08 and beyond. Have the client go to www.payscale.com or www.salary.com to get the pay ranges for their job in their area. Both have free sections, btw. Then ask for the PR records to see that the new salary is in play. At that point, you've done about all you can, but I'm no expert on fending off IRS over unreasonable positions, either, and who knows what latitude or attitude they have with the new rules in place?
