I'm a state and local tax consultant and teacher. I retired from active practice in 2001, but I still do some consulting through a local accounting firm in San Diego County, California. I worked in public accounting for almost 20 years before retiring. Before that, I was an auditor and audit supervisor for the California Franchise Tax Board for seven years. I have taught a state and local tax course at San Diego State University since 1980. I also teach for other organizations from time to time, including the Interstate Tax Corporation (out of Norwalk, CT) and the UC Davis Center for State and Local Taxation.

Thank you!

Update: On Feb. 11 I suffered a mild stroke. I'm glad to report I have no paralysis but I have some trouble with language and typing. I hope to be back to normal soon, but I expect I'll be a little slow for a while.
