Hello, my name is Sarah and I go by the nickname Sarahlmcs. I am a sole practioner CPA who has been in business alone since 2005. I started out as an auditor at a Big 4 firm, then moved to a regional CPA firm as a senior accountant (tax and audit). After 7 years of working for someone else, I decided to try business for myself. I have missed the "tax experts" of my former employer, but have been learning a lot more on my own than I would have if I had continued working for someone else. My practice consists of QB consulting, bookkeeping and payroll, compilations (mgt use and full disclosure to O/S parties), and audits. Most of this work leads to tax engagements (except the audits, of course). It has been tough trying to do everything myself, so I am very appreciative of those who contribute both answers and questions to this website. I am especially thankful to those who back up their answers with code sections or IRS instructions. My practice is located in Michigan.
