Hello, my name is John Doe and I go by the nickname Lostbyirs. I am neither a CPA, an EA, nor an etcetera. I do not handle taxes as a practice; I am just a poor Joe, er, John, who took entirely too much interest in the books containing the Internal Revenue Code during college, and used to enjoy having more than a clue about the 1040 and its various Schedule cousins.

Ah, the glory days of turning to the IRC to figure out whether and how to use Schedule D to report a whopping $500 profit on a stock sale, just for the fun of it. I was so innocent then.

However, I have recently become entirely too acquainted with the meaning of the oh-so-fun Section 6511, and have learned the hard way to be leery of IRS advice (although I have hopes for the Taxpayer Advocate).

In short, as a more-grownup, my taxes are too bloody complicated and I need to stick with hiring either a CPA or EA. I am not one to come to for advice; I am strictly a question-asker and listener. But I listen quite well.

If you'd like to leave me a message, just select the discussion tab at the top of this page.

Thank you!
