I am a professional tax preparer working out of my home. Practice is part-time/ seasonal and I've been doing this for about 30 years. Client base is limited to individual returns and I don't do any accounting/ bookkeeping work anymore (although did so for several small mom and pop businesses years ago, but payroll, sales taxes, quarterlies, etc. became too time consuming as I have a full-time corporate job with long hours). Took Enrolled Practitioner Exam back in the 80's, passed it, and was an active EA for several years but did not maintain mandatory continuing ed credits because of financial reasons. Not an excuse; just a fact. Graduated with BS in Accounting back in 1971.
