I am a CPA except that my license is inactive in Illinois since I did not do the CPE. I have never worked for a large accounting firm. I have generally done only small business taxes and nonwealthy individuals. I am now employed to do tax returns for $1-10 million gross businesses. I like to ask these questions to make sure I am not in over my head.
