My name is Brian Stanley. I am an attorney and have been the VP and General Counsel since 1989 for a small, family-owned oil and gas and real estate company in Oklahoma. I also serve as the personal attorney for the family that owns the company. Though I began my legal career as primarily an oil and gas and real estate attorney, over the years I found myself doing more and more tax-related work -- corporate and personal income tax, estate planning, etc. Actually, I now enjoy the tax-related work more than the real property work.

Besides my law degree, I also have a Certified Commercial Investment Advisor (CCIM) designation and am almost through with the Certified Specialist in Estate Planning (CSEP) program offered by Surgent (now Surgent McCoy, I think). I have published several articles, including some related to tax, in the Oklahoma Bar Journal, the Oil & Gas Journal, Landman Magazine and various other publications. I am a member of Marquis' Who's Who in American Law and have an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
