Hello, my name is Susan and I go by the nickname BW2732. I have a BS in accounting, and I really enjoy doing taxes. I'm a part-time tax preparer with about 5 years' experience in tax prep and over 15 years' experience in bookkeeping and payroll. My favorite returns are S-Corps, but like most of us, I also do 1040s (including Sched C's and the like). My full time gig is as a governmental auditor, auditing local governments and taxpayer funded agencies, which allows me to not only help keep an eye on taxpayer funded spending, but also lets me keep my little part-time business without any conflict of interest. I'll admit I miss working in public accounting, but the benes are much better working for the government than any CPA firm I know of - no offense to all you CPAs out there :) Love this site - invaluable advice from (mostly) friendly professionals just trying to help each other out in the spirit of our often complicated and stressful profession.
