Real Estate Professional - Passive Loss My research indicates a Mortgage Loan Broker does not meet the requirements under Section 469(c)(7) allowing a Real Estate Professional to deduct current Rental Losses. Does anyone have a different opinion

Unless the individual owns part of the company, the work they are doing is not counted as work done as a real estate professional. Even if they did own part of the company, I would doubt it counts in this scenario. I would view loan brokers as being finance work rather than in the real estate profession.
