We use QB for clients that already have their data in QB. We also use some other write up software as well.. The biggest problem we have with QB is that version 2005 downloads a spyware program that interferes with our other programs. Every time we use QB we have to run our anti spyware program before we can use our other program.

QB has not responded to our questions of how we can stop there spyware from loading.

Since the accusation regarding QuickBooks loading spyware is unattributed, that fact alone should keep it out of any and all corners of TaxAlmanac. For anyone who might be concerned, there is no truth to it.

Some folks see QB's updating software loading and think it is spyware; none of the spyware removal software providers agree. Some versions load CommonName, for which some spyware removal software packages generate a false positive.

QuickBooks used to be very guilty of downloading commercials with their updates. I wrote and told them I was going to tell all of my clients to switch to MYOB if Intuit didn't cut it out. Naturally, they stopped at once (that is, I was one of a zillion complainers).
