Tim: I just noticed on some of the new posts that the date is already showing 01/16/2007 rather than 01/15/2007 even though it is only 4:30pm PST / 7:30pm EST. Does the wiki use GMT and if so, why? Just curious! Thanks

Never mind - I just saw the thread at http://www.taxalmanac.org/index.php/Discussion:Date_Stamp

Coordinated Universal Time ("UTC") is utilized in TA.

Well, if you look at the history of any page, you can see that the dates and times of each edit are localized to the timezone of the viewer (provided you've set that up in your preferences). It's just the date on pages such as this that use UTC (for the date).

Tim: I do not see that as an option in Preferences.

Go to preferences, select Time Zone and click the button to "fill in from browser". That will set your timezone.
