This has happened to me several times today:

TaxAlmanac was not able to save your reply.

   * There has been an unexpected error on the server. This error has been recorded.
   * You will not be contacted regarding this error. However, helpful information has been recorded in our logs to allow our engineers to fix this problem.
   * You may use the "Back" button on your browser to see you posting. This may help you recover the post with retyping (by copying and pasting into a new forum topic).
   * Please contact us if you continue to have problem

Hi, Larry - the site started having problems with response times, time outs, and the like on Tuesday or so - early last week (after I posted that I remembered that you know all about it, you posted on the chat thread; sorry!). Tim said that they fixed one thing on Thursday, but some problems persisted, so they were continuing to look for and fix other issues, and I haven't had any more news since Thursday afternoon. I had thought things seemed back to normal yesterday and today, but now and then the slow site/posts not being able to be posted, etc., have recurred. Sorry that it swallowed one of your posts in the process. And - thanks for reporting it; I think that all of these data points help them figure out the issues.

BTW - it would help to know: Was the post you were trying to save something you had drafted during an earlier session, and between then and now you had gotten logged out, and had to log back in?

No. They were posts I typed & tried to save immediately. There have been 3-4 since about 8:00AM MST today.

I, too, was in touch with Tim during the week & have sent him this info. today.

I find that this message doesn't cause swallowing of the post, and if you reclick the save button it almost always goes through immediately. It most often happens for me when it is either a long post, during which time someone has accessed the page to which I am posting, or creation of the post has caused me to access several other taxalmanac pages or outside pages as referents for my comments. I didn't have that option. I was taken to a new screen that had an error message. When I went back what I had typed was gone.

It most often happens for me when it is either a long post

None of them were much longer than this one.
