Thanks for the help, but on my computer Taxalmanac seems even slower today than in the past few weeks.

All day, Paula, or just for about the last hour or so? I've noticed a definite slowdown in the past hour, although still not to the extent we had last week with time-out errors, etc.

Are others seeing similar issues? They've fixed a number of things, and thought that they had it licked, but that's not to say that there may not be other problems yet to be found and resolved.

That does not add any comfort what so ever!

I agree with Action. Unfortunately, this system is so slow is has almost come to a screeching halt. It is taking 3-4 minutes just to leave a post, run a search and after a search has been made - 3-4 more minutes just to enter into a post. This is not good!

Sorry, I didn’t mean to make that as blithe as it sounded. I was thinking about the fact that with systems issues, it usually isn’t just one thing that causes a problem, it’s the interactions – and so therefore, you often get incremental improvements on the way to the overall solution.

While I don't quite see 3-4 minutes, I've found tabbed browing a benefit in that I can go elsewhere while it loads and come back to it. Today seems inordinately slow.

Should have kept my big mouth shut: after posting I hit two "This page is not available" after waits of several minutes.

Wow, I’m sure glad that the problems involving slow page access times and periodic time-out error messages have been resolved, because I sure like waiting 45-60 seconds between clicks. Like Harry would say, it gives me a chance to go to the refrig to get a PBR.

I'll post this here if anyone is interested in bidding; I fear the site may never open again. Maybe one of those Drake zealots hacked it.

Here comes your friendly CID man with his shotgun!

No, no Trillium. My comment was to Kevin. With the system so slow - you had already posted before mine post was accepted.

Still with the site being so slow - the site itself must be getting hammered by someone attempting to take the site down. Otherwise - why would there be such an issue.

Took 4-5 minutes just to post my question on PIN's. Hate to be the people who are having to work on this issue.

Trillium, I usually check out the website a couple of times throughout the day and when using it earlier, it was horribly slow, painfully slow. Right now it seems somewhat improved but like D&T said, maybe I should keep my mouth shut or it'll probably come back and bite me where I least expect it. Thanks for your efforts because, as Michael says, hopefully no one is trying to hack the site, which happened to another bulletin board I frequented a few years ago. I truly don't want to lose TA, not just for the information here, but also the friends we've made. I was timed out on this post and didn't think it stuck. Wacky things are happening!!

It was fine today up until the last hour (3pm EST 2/4/10) and now seems to be slowing....or maybe I need to reboot and clear the cache!

It's not just you, D&T. I notified Tim, but I also believe he is actively monitoring the issue; yesterday when the site started to slow down again, he had people working on the problem long before I'd gotten in touch with him.
