I left a question regarding Section 754 and Section 179 on a purchased LLC membership (vs. inherited) on a thread which has not been visited since 2008. I have read I am not supposed to start a new thread, but am wondering what the likelihood is of anyone responding to an old thread. Am new to this site and still learning. Thanks for your help!

When you added your post to that discussion, it bumped it up to the very first page of the tax forum, and as such is just as likely to be read as any other brand new discussion. (Caveat - long and very meandering discussions are not great to bump, since the earlier posts may prove distracting, but that doesn't apply to the discussion you bumped.)

Not only that, there are five or six responses since you posted your question - have you reviewed them?

Here's a direct link to the discussion you posted to: Discussion:Partnership Sec 179, and it's also still on page 1 of the tax forum. You can also always get back to prior posts via the "my contributions" link in the upper right corner of your screen.
