Is anyone else still getting the "this form is not final" yellow bar at the top of forms that Pro Series says are final?

Form 8903 is supposed to be final, it does print fine, but I still get the dreaded yellow bar.

I think that is one of the last forms to be finalized in late Feb, but I'm not sure. Try updating your program online and then look at the text when it finishes to see if 8903 is still delayed.

I just ran the update on my computer upstairs, and Form 8903 is listed as Final and Ready to Efile. So updating your program should solve your problem, but I haven't had any of these forms, so I'm not sure.

Program is completely updated.

What I'm trying to say is that I can print the form just fine. No watermarks. HOWEVER, the status bar still shows it as not final. Looks like the warning is displaying incorrectly. That's what I want to know. Does anyone else still get the warning message.

Notice is still there but the form is final and ready for e-file states their web site.

I don't get the yellow warning for Form 8903. This happened to me a week ago, when Forms 2210 and 8606 were updated to be final. The first return I opened still showed the yellow warning on one of those forms after I ran the upgrade, but after I saved the client's file (or after I converted the file for efiling, can't remember), it was no longer yellow. I think your 8903 should convert fine. You can try to convert it without transmitting it to see if it will convert okay.

I think I have found the problem.

In the ProSeries directory on my computer there is a folder called FormsAvail. When I look at this I see that the following do not have the same date as all the rest:

S2006US1120.xml S2006US1120S.xml S2006US1065.xml

These files are apparently updated whenever you run the updater. For some reason, mine are not being changed.

Need to get an uncorrupted version somewhere. I tried re-naming the ones I have and to see if that would create a new update, but it did not work.

Those filenames are for 1120, 1120S and 1065, so I doubt they have anything to do with Form 8903. It's not a good idea to rename files.

These are the names that I see in the window when I close out an update I believe.

Deback-

Those files are the files ProSeries uses to let each type of return know what forms are ready to file. They do nothing in terms of affecting the preparation of a return at all. There is a corresponding file for each type of return, whether fed or state. Every time you run the update, it downloads what features, forms, programs, etc. that have changed. It then updates the files I referenced above with the new forms and puts the date/time stamp on them (meaning the FormsAvail files). What this means to me, is that for the 1120, 1120S, and 1065 programs, it only sees what was "ready to file" as of 1/27/07. They are not updated with the current form availability and date stamped with the current date. My Form 8903 that is actually used is the final version, but when I call it up in the 1120 (Form 8903) or 1120S (8903 Worksheet)or 1065 (8903 Worksheet) I will get the yellow warning bar. In other words, I am getting an incorrect warning. Renaming them does absolutely nothing as ProSeries will create a new one when you re-run the update feature. For some reason, my updater is not downloading the current FormsAvail file (list) for the 1120, 1120S, or 1065.

Ok, Msmith, my first answer was the correct one. Form 8903 in the 1120-S program is delayed until 2/27. I just ran the update again and found it under 1120-S. I can't open the 1120 and 1065 list of forms, for some reason, when it finished running the update, but I was able to open the 1120-S list.

Earlier today, I only looked in the 1040 list of forms, and 8903 is available for Form 1040. Sorry, I didn't think to look at the other entities earlier today. (I usually only have a minute or so during the day to answer a quick question or two.)

I just clicked on "details" and it says: FormsAvail missing S2006US1120.xml, S2006US1120S.xml, and S2006US1065.xml. I just sent that log to ProSeries.
