My cell phone rang this afternoon, I said hello, and the voice on the other end said "Hi Paula, this is Jim from San Diego!" Happy sounding guy, but I was really busy and not in the mood for idiocy. I was nice at first. I asked who he was, he evaded the answer, it went straight down hill from there. He said something about Actions Business Service must no longer be in business because I wasn't very nice, told him, "I'm in business but not the business of being dinked around on the phone. What's the purpose of your call?" He starts off on a tirade about Aloha and Mahalo etc. I hung up. When I first bought my business many years ago, I used to get an occasional obscene phone call asking things like what kind of action, etc etc. But this idiot didn't seem to get out of the call whatever those other people got out of theirs. What makes someone make a stupid call like that, and where did he get my name and cell number?

There is no explaining such people. A quick hang-up seems to work best. Financial scam of some sort is possible, but so is plain weirdness.

Paula,

I guess he had nothing better to do. Maybe off his meds or got released from the looney bin.

I was only trying to say hi ;-)

Well if you would have said "Hi this is Fred!" I would have known who it was and I wouldn't have hung up on you! Just sayin'.

That simply takes the fun out of it. Next time I do it, say "Fred, hi, what you doin'?" and say it in the voice, and see if I respond.

Some people post on web-boards under various aliases just to pass the time too. Don't worry about it. He wanted to test his wit against yours, consider it a compliment.
