As we transition over to the new site and prepare to move on, it would be good to just say thanks to Tim Doyle who was instrumental in setting up this site years ago and others at Intuit whose names I don't know. It's been such a godsend to so many of us sole practitioners. And huge thanks to Marcillio and Kevin for all they've done in the past and in keeping this together this tax season especially. There's no small investment in time on their parts. Thanks too, to all the people who have been so helpful to all the other people needing help. There are so many names to mention and sadly some of them are no longer here to receive thanks. I'm sure Riley's looking down on us though with the tax code in his hands ready to tell us where we need to be looking for answers. Thanks also to Chris for setting up the new site so we can continue to help one another and develop e-friends. See you at the new place.

So long and thanks for all the fish

I don't see this as good-bye, just a transition and obviously a huge thanks to everyone you mentioned and more. I don't know of many other places that have a homey feel to them. A family feel with all the neurotic idiosyncrasies of crazy uncles, and creepy uncles <Bob> and loving aunts and sisters.

Hopefully Tim will join us on the other site as simply an honorary moderator who gets to sit and watch the baby he birthed grow up and leave the nest.

Please Tim, come visit your kids and now, when you do, you won't be an employee and you can simply be you.

There are other names that should be mentioned and I know we are missing them, please help this frazzled mind add them to the list of people to thank.

So long for now TA, and thanks for all the fish.

I extend my thanks to the authorities: St. Trillium, Korps Kommandant Doyle, Kaiser "Caligula" Houston aka K5 :), and part-time (i.e. typical part-time American) forum deputy TAO...Tom from Maryland.

As unofficial board chaplain, I now bestow my apostolic blessing upon all who have entered these precincts, which is good for a ticket out of purgatory or hell if you happen to have died while you were a member of our happy group.

Finally, I thought a poem was called for. I had written a Lament myself, but it was too long, and of course full of all the cliches proper to the occasion, and of course it was just terrible. Therefore, I have vastly elevated the occasion by leaving a poem by Goethe, which is given here in English prose; the original being in German, rhymes.

"If you wish to build a good life for yourself, you must not worry about the past, and even if you have been hurt, behave as you were born yesterday. Ask what each day demands. Each day will tell you. You must find delight in your own activities, you should not overestimate what others do; and above all hate no one, and leave the rest to God."

Goethe

We stumble forward now as pitiful refugees and motherless childs and I wish ever one the best.

Trillium was the name stuck on the end of my tongue. I knew someone of importance was left out. Thanks to you Trillium and please join the family over at the new place as well.

You guys are right!! Trillium is who I met and I typed Marcillio. Sorry Trillium - you have given so much of yourself to this group and are so greatly appreciated.
