I have over 25 years of experience in the finance/accounting industry in various capacities. I have come to an agreement in principle for the purchase of a tax/bookkeeping practice over the next couple of years. I have a BS in accounting and passed the CPA exam in the mid 80's. I have about 6 "tax prep" seasons under my belt (spread out over several years). Mostly with HR Bloch. I am interested in "hitting the ground running" and maybe even getting Part 1 of the EA exam under my belt between now and 1/1/2011. I would appreciate thoughtful discussion on which EA exam prep course might be best for me (on-line with study materials and maybe a study group, after work) and what to expect on my journey into tax practionerhood.

Hi,

Wayne from dallas, here. We're both from the 80"s. I worked for the IRS here in Dallas, Tx and when into consulting back in 1988. Been in Public Accounting ever since.
