Is this true? If so, it interests me.

The FBI also interviewed and chatted up Anwar al-Awlaki before he and his 16-year-old son were "droned" in separate attacks in Yemen. Stranger still, Awlaki was allowed to fly in and out of the U.S. on many occasions after 911, and he was never put on the no-fly list as far as I know. One wonders sometimes if the FBI is trying its level best [Content deleted by the NSA as a professional courtesy to our friends over at the FBI, we will review for reinstatement in 75 years]....however, due to my desire not to be "droned" myself I will cease wondering and instead I will remain in perpetual wonderment over these affairs. However, I will add that it might do the FBI some good to continue to follow up Russian intelligence so as to prevent terror attacks in places like, oh, let's say ... [content deleted by the above authority under the above terms].

P.S. Imam Al-Awlaki spoke with and counseled 3 of the so-called 911 hijackers before the 911 events occurred, he was an Imam in the U.S. for God's sake (or I guess I should say...for Allah's sake in this instance). During this counseling and preaching period, the FBI already had the said Imam under surveillance! Never put the man on the no-fly list after 911, continued to chat him up and have him over for tea when he flew into America after 911. My goodness, they even had blond-haired American children on the no-fly list for who knows what reason, computer error I guess. Odd case all around. Well, as Voltaire advised, I'd best tend my own garden (while keeping a watchful eye over the sky above). Watching out for drones was the one thing Candide didn't have to worry over.

Your watchful eye is likely way too slow for avoidance of whatever the drone sends your way by the time you spot it. Happy gardening.

The book "Dirty Wars: The World is a Battlefield" covers the Awlaki matter in some detail. It was authored by Jeremy Scahill and it is equally unsparing in its treatment of both the Bush and Obama Adinistrations.
