How can a user delete a blank topic? -- Larry Hess, CPA, Albuquerque, NM - Talk to me

Larry:

Users can delete the content on a page (which the user recently did and which I believe you are referring to). Currently, only "Administrators" can actually delete pages, and currently only a few Intuit employees are "Administrators". So if you want a page deleted, just let me know and I'll take care of it.

Another point to consider... the ForumThreadHeading template at the top of the discussions is what adds the categories (such as Tax Questions or TaxAlmanac Feedback) to the pages, and these categories are what cause the discussions to show up on the topic listing pages, so once you remove the ForumThreadHeading line at the top of the page, that topic will no longer show on the topic listing pages.

We may at some point decide that certain trusted TA members need additional rights, such as the ability to delete pages and to block spammers, but so far the need hasn't surfaced.

What brought this up was that in the last day or so there were 3 postings with identical topics, 2 of which were blank. I can't remember the topic and don't see them now so maybe you already deleted them. -- Larry Hess, CPA, Albuquerque, NM - Talk to me
