Will bad credit (very bad credit) disqualify me from becoming an authorized e-file provider.

Why would that matter?

I've read that part of their suitability check is a credit check. Having little credit is different than having very bad credit. I just don't know if their looking character qualities based on your credit.

I don't recall seeing any credit inquiries when I applied. Just apply and see what you get.

I don't think bad credit will prevent you from becoming an authorized e-file provider but if you are planning on offering bank products (fee settlement) to your clients, some of the banks may not accept you. This will also depend on your software and settlement bank (if you offer those products).
