I have a client that is an independent contractor working as a courier. He transports medicine using his personal automobile. The rule states "vehciles for hire such as a taxi" cannot use the mileage method. The discussion board seems to imply that the rule "for hire" pertains to a vehicle hired to transport people. Is that the case? Is not a courier transporting medicine considered for hire? I would appreciate a reference source if possible.
