| Have a client that says there is a credit ($1,000) available for putting in a wood burner. I know about the solar credits, but haven't been able to find anything related to a credit for wood burners. Anybody know of any? | |

| There is a Energy-efficient home contruction credit meaning that a Contractor that build new energy-efficient homes MAY be eligible for a tax credit of either $ 2,000 or $ 1,000 per qualifying home, depending on the type of home and the energy reduction standards that are met. The credit is only available for homes acquired after 2005 adn before 2008. | |

| No, a wood burner is not on the list of eligible energy saving items. | |

| Drpcpa, a number of states have credits for wood burning stoves. Could our client be referring to a state credit? | |

| I have the same situation-a client of ours installed a corn burning stove & believes that she's able to take some kind of credit...I can't find where that will gain her a credit. Is there an alternative fuel tax credit for using corn to heat your house? She spent $3K on the stove & about $200 for corn. | |
