| Does anybody knows any way to have two QuickBooks files open at the same time on the same computer? | |

| The only way I know is if you have one file in an older version and one in a newer.
Anyone else? Tom | |

| Unfortunately both files are in the same version, but thanks anyway... | |

| I agree with Tom. You can have QB 2006 and 2007 open at the same time but not two 2007's. | |

| Actually, I figure it out one way...
If you have one computer with a more than one user license QuickBooks program installed, and that computer also accepts concurrent Remote Desktop Connections, you can access that computer from another computer thru two Remote Desktop Sessions. The result, two files open at the same time. This workaround will only work if users, files and network settings have been configured properly and with the right permission and configuration. Also, a two monitor display is greatly recommended. Hope this help someone⦠I'm sure it will...

| Also, I use logmein.com to achieve the same thing taxacct just mentioned. You are allowed to install QB;s on more than one computer, but you are not allowed to use it as a network. If your files are on a server, you can remotely access <using any program you choose> another computer that also has the QBs open.
Wondering if I have two screens, can I remotely access myself? things that make you go hmmmmmmmm

| Fred, in answer to your question, I think the answer is only if you have two operating systems installed. | |

| LogMeIn is a gret product and very easy to get. Answering Fred's question about if he can remotely access his same account, that depends. Both computers (the one that has the multi-license QuickBooks installed, has the data saved locally, and accepts concurrent Remore Desktop Sessions, and the one from where you are initiating the Remote Session) should not be within the same "domain", or in other words, each one should be an stand-alone computer sharing the same workgroup and network. This scenario pictures that actually Fred will have two accounts(one on each computer), so if you access Fred's account on computer 1 from Fred account on computer 2, you are not using the same account. The computer that holds the QB rogram and data should have more than one user defined. This will not be the case in a domain.
Hope this help better understand my suggestion.
