| Anybody using this program? Never used it myself but these guys have been marketing hard and their price looks quite nice compared to ProSeries...
Thoughts? Thanks, Jeff

| I talked with them last Fall. The program as a lot of limitations. I use the Client Status and couldn't funtion without that report during tax season - TaxSlayer doesn't have anything to tract the status of returns. Couldn't imagaine running a tax business without knowing exactly the status of where a return is in the process and who's handling it. That was just one of their limitations.
I use Lacerte and I know it is probably the most expensive software available. This year I added an additional Technology Fee, simply to recoup as much of the cost as possible, to each return and only had 1 person ask me what it was for. For individuals it was $20 and for any business it was an additional $50.

| I tried the demo. Found it very old fashioned and like working in DOS. I hate Lacerte, Intuits more my style. I have been using TaxWise made by Univeral Tax since 1997. I get mad at the support crew and try a bunch of demos but I always end up back at TAxWise. On every line you can pull up a worksheet or a connecting form. It doesn't share worksheets like Lacerte does. It is the software that the Feds use. I'm sure it's a bigger version but the Feds use Univeral Tax software. Kind of like MYOB and BestWares. Same company. Bestware is for the big time. MYOB is for people that like to have their payroll records hard to work with. But back to TaxWise. You know what is going on with each tax return. I direct file my state and go thru them for all others. Support is polite. I know more about the program then most of them do! I been using it longer than most of them have been in the workforce. For Slayer and most programs the price is not a true indication of what it is really going to cost once you add direct filing, all states, corps and partners etc. Try TaxWise and tell them T for Taxes in Eugene Oregon recommended it. They'll give me a gold star by name!!! oh boy. | |

| I went ahead and installed the demo. It is very old-fashioned, to the point of 20 years ago. Granted it's inexpensive but I'd rather stick with ProSeries - much more professional. | |

| I like the name, but I'd have to say that the software is not to my liking. | |
