By now, I'm sure many have read about the pizza waitress that got the $10,000 tip. While received in the course of employment, this got me thinking. Because of the extraordinary size of the "tip", could an argument be made from a tax perspective that it is really a gift-thus making it nontaxable?

There's only one size group that claims it doesn't matter.
