Have a return to prepare for a minor. Mom and dad already claimed her and the phone tax for all three of them. Minor has a phone in her name-- she can't claim the redund too-- can she??

Not if she's a dependant of another.

Thought so, but could not find any documentation so had to ask!

Believe they can but must use actual amounts and file form 8913 or whatever it is.

On Pro Series there is a box to check if dependent is claiming their own phone tax credit. Looks like the dependent can claim it. But parent couldn't get it on dependent too.
